Felted Scarves

Hear are my latest completed projects! Both of these scarves are hand felted with dyed wool. The light green one is accented with needel felted flowers And the dark green and grey one is accented with tiny beads, this scarf also has two needle felted stripes running through it. I am so happy that I finally got these two projects out of the way. The beaded scarf  took the longest and kind of tested my patience. I spent hours sewing those little beads onto the end and from this experienc I think I will opt for bigger beads the next time I do this.

work in progress

Right now I have no completed projects, for the last few weeks i have been working on multiple things, I am constructing my visual box, the only thing I have left to do is sew the sides together. I also have two felted s carves made I am just putting finishing touches on them. The last project I am working on is my handmade bowls. hopefully by the end of the week I can have some of these projects completed.

Week 4

It was during this week that I discovered that  I have a obsession with modpodge. I am applying it to everything from my handmade bowls to journal pages. It is so versatile and i am having fun experimenting with it to see materials it can work on and effects it can create. I am still creating handmade parer bowls adding leaves, tea feathers and flowers to make them more  interesting. Over winter break i felted my first scarf. I used a dark green wool and gray wool  base then needel felted  2 light green stripes the whole with of the scarf. I am now working on sewing green beads to the ends of the scarf. It is a very tedious project because the beads are so small but I am trying to work on it any chance I get and hope to have it finished by next week. I plan to work on some other scarves over the next few weeks. My inspiration for the scarves comes from bfelt.com,  Barbara Poole is the artist who runs the sight, she is a felt artist, designer, teacher and felt maker, below  a example of her work
