Mod Podge Nest

These are birds nest I completed last week. Each nest has a center created from mod podged yarn. Colorful yarn is added ion top to create a "bedding" for the pearl eggs. Feathers give the birds nest a realistic touch and add color to the piece. I originally started this project experimenting with the yarn to make bowls with the mod podge and yarn. Through that process it evolved until it looked something like a nest.  Figuring out how something will come together and evolving it into a piece that is appealing. With all my pieces this trimester I have just started out with a basic idea and changes things along the way. I am awful at planning things out and having a set idea that I follow the whole way through. I find it so much more fun and exciting to just flow with the creativity and come up with it as you go. Sometime things don't turn out, but when these projects do turn out they are my favorite pieces.

  1. I think that in your case "awful at planning it out" is balanced by your work ethic, creativity and your understanding of how a work of art can "evolve". Sometimes you have to let go and allow the art to be what it wants to be, even if it doesn't follow an original plan. You know how to do this already! Very very good experimenting this trimester!
